If you wait for a new card series, you'll always be waiting.

That being said, the current gen GPUs for AMD are just refreshes and the 970 doesn't have much longevity.

Wait for pascal tbh

I'm a fucking AMD kawaii weeaboo desu I have seen the light

If you already have a card I would hold out and wait for the new series to see what performance they bring. If you have nothing right now and can't wait then pic up a new card and you can always sell it down the road and upgrade.

For starters no one actually knows when pascal or Polaris is releasing. There are speculations and rumors that NVidia may release at the end of may and amd may release before school starts, but these are unconfirmed rumors. You could always buy an evga card and step up if pascal does release within 90 days, but other than that I never recommend waiting for a graphics card release unless were talking a couple of weeks at best.

I would ask if you have monitor that leverage that kind of performance or are you planning on getting one? If that is the case then maybe waiting could be a good idea, but if it's not I would consider getting the best card you can get now.

If you have anything less than a 770..... and you can afford a new card, Pascal it up.

If you have a 970 or up... wait until the gen after this... that's my opinion.

The cards won't be that much faster until everything is HBM2 or up.
