Is an RM850x good enough for the GTX 980 Ti? That's what I'm planning to use. I didn't realise the PSUs were also quite complicated. I completely overlooked it :(

even a RM550x is more than enough for a 980Ti ... (but the RM650x is cheaper, at least at amazon)

Really? I've read it's borderline? I wasn't sure if I should go for an EVGA P2 or something. I'm new with this, sorry.

the RMx series doesn't come with fancy stuff like Corsair link, otherwise they are very good psus.

The RM1000x scores 10/10 at JG

The RM750x scores 9.8/10 at JG

TH has pretty much nothing to complain about the RM550x

But what about the quality of the RMx? I've read if your PSU is not of high enough "quality" or "tier" it can fry your GPU after a few months? Am I overreacting/over thinking/being stupid?

Let me quote JG: "It's an excellent product in every conceivable way I can think of, and I can't think of one thing to hold against it. Not one thing. You guys know me... if I can find any problems at all, a perfect total score just doesn't happen."

NOTE: RM =/= RMx !!!!!

Okay thanks! I realise I "stole" the thread from the OP but we are in the same situation it seems.

Nah, get an EVGA GQ/GS/G2 or B2 if you're really strapped for cash. Really though, if you can afford a 980ti a great PSU shouldn't be out of reach.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

The CX is made by CWT. The CS is made by Great Wall.

2 different OEMs. 2 different platforms.
