Can't see those, what budget, what country, what's your display set up?

Also any gaming?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I think he's ordering via a company only, not looking for parts list.

The i7 as a whole, but it seems kinda mismatched compared to the xeon using on board sound and no wifi

You could do better building your own, I't not hard plus it's pride and better parts

It depends on what softwares you're using, but I would assume the second one would be better given the xeon processor. The first build is pretty good, but more suited for gaming given the 6700k and the 980. However, that first build is hella overpriced. At the most, a 6700k and a 980 should probably cost no more than $1700. I know Puget systems has some great support and goes the extra mile with their builds, but it would be so much cheaper to do it yourself.

The xeon is a nicer processor for video editing but the 980 is much better than the 960. I'd try to get the 980 with the xeon but if  not get the 6700k build with the 980

Please don't go down this road. It's so over priced costing upwards of 2x as much as building it yourself. You should just build it yourself and spend the thousands of dollars you've saved on other college things... like books... and food.

This build costs less and is twice as powerful. You can save 600 dollars by not getting a second graphics card.

Agreed. From what I've seen form @Barnacules's channel, they do way too much extra work that really doesn't impact performance like at all. I mean seriously, a thermal tuning using a thermal camera to make sure there's no hotspots in your computer? Custom fan mounts in random places inside your computer? That's ridiculous. @Slick's investigation on cable management and temperatures clearly shows that cables don't impact cooling, and as long as you have like 2 fans on your average mid tower, you wont see any improvements in performance and surely not in performance. The extra work that Puget does is totally not worth the price. Please just build it yourself.

-edit- If it was my build for the use case you have described, I would go with a single 980ti and a xeon with more than 8 cores for faster rendering of 3D projects.

If you can connect cables and tighten screws you could make your own, they're just people to they could make a mistake in regards to "professional quality" and you could rig up something like this and destroy those others

Feel free to roast it, I just went through quickly ^^^

it sounds like your budget is near 4k, so this includes 3 4K IPS free-sync displays, though 32" would be a bit better for productivity, otherwise, not much else you could or probably should spend the money on

case is just personal preference, it would give everything great air flow though

Fury crossfire vs 980tis, much closer and faster in some cases against stock 980tis apparently, than you might think
