windows cannot read ext3 without extra 3rd party software

ok so i have a qnap ts 219p 

 

and i took one of the HDD's out and put it in my pc to try and read it

 

explorer dont find it but in disk manager it does however it dont display a file system

 

and whilst i do this i reset my nas drive so the other one gets wiped can someone tell me why the F my computer cant read the HDD 

i know the hdd has a file format windows can read cuz its ext3 

 

the hdd is a 2tb barracuda
