Hey folks,

Recently I've been looking to build a new computer desk, since I have the horsepower I'd like to try to design it using a CAD software. I need some recommendations. I'd like the easiest to use software that I could have as this would be my first time. Free would always be best but I'd fork up a couple dollars if needed. What are your suggestions? Thanks.

CAD software generally is very expensive for the average consumer so I would probably say use SketchUp. For some reason I want to say it is free. I haven't used it in quite a while so it might have changed. However I do remember it being user friendly, well at least for a drafter.

You want 3d or just 2d?

3d easiest is probably Autodesk inventor and AutoCAD is the easiest 2d.

Both can be aquired as a student version if you have a uni/school email.
