Hey Everyone,

For the past few days my display has been crashing to a black screen every time I watch a video or play a game. It's also displayed in black and white and shown green streaks running throughout. The crash only happens after I'm watching a video for a few minutes or if I go into a game like dota it'll crash almost instantly. These are the tests I've done so far.

I uninstalled the current NVIDIA drivers and replaced them with a few previous editions.

I reformatted the computer just to make sure it wasn't viruses, etc.

I've tried several monitors and the problem persists across different monitors.

I've taken out the GPU and used the on-board video my mobo has. This resulted in the computer having more issues and not even being able to load to the desktop. Upon booting up it will simply crash and restart. It made it once all the way to the desktop using just the mobo but quickly shut off and rebooted itself.

I'll be switching out my gpu for an old one a friend has later on tonight to see if that makes a difference. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Those are the three versions I have currently tested. All three of which are resulting in the same issues. and I always stay up to date with drivers. So in other words back when I was using the February edition in February I wasn't experiencing any problems. When I uninstalled the current drivers and replaced them with the previous feb. edition NOW I am still experiencing all of the same problems.

Same here. This started for me very recently. Fortunately for me I can still return my card if it cannot be fixed.

so your sure it's your card and not your mobo? if that's the case when I test my friends gpu tonight the problem should theoretically go away. But I find that unlikely because when I switched to my motherboard video only my computer freaked out and didn't work properly. I'm leaning towards the motherboard being the problem for me.

We have different motherboards, but I tried using an AMD R9 270 and it worked for me.

A guy on another forum just suggested this. I'm trying it out now.

" As odd as it sounds you may want to try running memtest, the onboard GFx would use the RAM for its GPU and the video issues may be related simply to a bad RAM spot that eventually gets hit after a while. I had a very similar issue on an older system of mine and it turned out I had a bad stick. "
