Whats the best laptop for under a thousand dollars?

It needs to have a touchscreen, a decent screen size and resolution, and a really long battery life. I don't care for the graphics as much, but cpu wise, an i5 is just fine. I doesn't need to be an ultrabook, but thats basically what i'm asking. I will be using it for school, media, and some occasional gaming.

Build: Fx-8120@4.1ghz,  Gtx770@1.0ghz,  16gb Patriot memory,  Cheap case from thermaltake

Dell xps12

I'll be getting one myself.

Acer dell and lenovo are the big three, they all have three viable 1000$ options, it's basically just little details for each one that are different so pick the one you like and roll with it.

Well sir,

Answer the following questions and maybe we can sort this out.

**SORRY OP**

(Look at Asus G series. Refurb onea are usually under$1K)

Do you fight crime?

If you were to fight crime would you be super at it?

If you were super at fighting crime, WHAT would be your nickname?

Good but depends if he wants OSX or not

Of course. But you can always get Windows and replace Mac OS X completely. Still under $1000. Long battery life, but no touch screen (it's not useful anyways.) Can play some games.
