so, i recently had to re install windows 10. as the nvidia driver fail, messed up something on my pc and yeah that was what ended up having to happen lol regardless, here is a screenshot i have now.

My question is this, the Temp #4. *technically, each of them Temp # 1,2,3,4* what is that reading for exactly? and why is #5 so low vs the others. I have seen that #4 stays kinda higher then the others. in this screenshot it shows 34c vs mid to upper 20's for the others accept #5. but what made me wonder about this in the first place was because #4 was around 40 low 40's and the others *again besides #5* were hanging around low 30's

these are the sensors of your mobo, maybe take a look at your manual and try to find out more where the sensors are placed.

Those are temps for different things on the MB. The #4 i probably for VRM, so that's why it's higher than others, for example chipset temp.

CPU: i7 3770K | MB: EVGA Z77 FTW | RAM: HyperX Savage 2400Mhz 16GB | GPU: R9 280X Toxic | Cooler: Scythe Fuma | PSU: CoolerMaster B600

SSD: Crucial MX300 525GB | HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB - Toshiba DT01ACA300 3TB

ah ok, thanks to the both of u. Im looking now in the manual to find any info on the sensors, acceptable ranges of temps.

acceptable temps for mobos are in my opinion the same as for the cpu/gpu: best are in the 60-70°C range (full load), <90°C not for longer use and at idle in the max 30°C range.
