HDD NOT WORKING

THE ELITE BAMBI

This hdd is not letting me install windows 7 or 8.1 please help it keeps giving me error messages

did you format the drive to NTFS? because thats the format that windows reads and uses. if you did try deleting all your other partions and creating 1 main partiton. thats what i always do for my builds and it works everytime.

 

UPDATE: my bad i ment NTFS not FAT32

i thought hard disk should have the NTFS file system?

oh shit my bad i ment NTFS FAT32 is for USB and external HDDs sorry my bad OP  DON'T SET THE DISK TO FAT32!

external HDD can be NTFS too... am i wrong? :(

it's not the system format it's the partition table, normaly when using windows partition table used is MBR (master boot record) but since it's asking for GPT so bios should be on EFI he must switch to legacy to use MBR

any hard drive with big storage is NTFS by default if you didn't change it to fat32 manually

yes they can but i set set them to fat32 since they are removable media (well at least the older HDDs that i convert to external)
