What is quickest way to shut down windows 8(no 3rd part software like start8 or startisback, just in windows 8)?

The fastest way to shut it down is to never turn it on.

On the PC's Start screen, simply right-click on the new Start button to display the familiar pop-up menu. You'll now find a shut down command at the bottom of the menu, which lets you turn off or restart your device.

Win+I (anywhere you are), then click on the Power button, and then select if you want to shutdown, restart, sleep, etc.

 

 

Alt+F4 doesn't work if you are on the Start Screen, or modern UI app (it closes it, and gets back to the Start Screen, which doesn't work)

 

So while, Win+I requires 2 hands on the keyboard to execute this shortcut, it works everywhere you are, and gives you all the options you need, to close your system in some fashion.
