Literature on Networking and Servers

Hi everybody,

I'm new to the whole networking/server world but I think it's really exciting. I have to help my Dad in his office and build a network infrastructure. Since we are only 3 people so far I didn't see any need for a Windows Server so everything is kept at low cost and down to earth right now. So here is my question:

Any good reading advice for beginners?

Thank you!

Well, we all know Linus did some videos on it, so that may be a good place to start.

not only a nas. the idea was to make it possible to log into the system from any workstation in the office with your own personal account. like some sort of virtual desktop

Then you might as well start with the Windows Active Domain and go from there.  Login from any PC in the network.

Active Directory I believe he's referring to. As far as 'literature' goes, google it and you'll find plenty of information to soak up.
