My friend's PC would just black out and restart whenever he plays a demanding game (not LoL) for more than an hour or so. No blue screen, no windows error log. He owns a 7970 and a 3770k. I suspect it is either a vrm or PSU problem. Anybody got any other suggestions?

How hot does the CPU get? I had an issue with my old laptop that the CPU would get too hot and shut the laptop down until it was cool enough to boot.

CPU: I7 4790K(4.6@1.252v)                               Case: Fractal Design Define R5 Windowed(Black)           Cooler: CM 212 EVO + NF F12 iPPC

RAM: HyperX Fury 1600MHZ CL10 2x4GB      Storage: Samsung 850 EVO(250GB) + WD Red(2TB)      PSU: Corsair RM750 (and no, it hasn't blown up!)

MoBo: Asus Maximus VII Ranger                      Graphics: MSI GTX 970 TwinFrozr (1494MHZ Core)       OS: Windows 10 Enterprise

Try cleaning it if it's dusty. My old prebuilt pc has so much dust on the old GPU that it couldn't spin properly and if it is dusty a can of canned air will easily dot the trick but be careful if you are planning to use a vacuum since that can essentially brick your components (ESD)

I told him to clean it out but he is a bit of a pc noob. Here is a image of the PC before that.
