i bought my dell xps 8700 about 4 years ago when i had no idea of what pc or anything was. now that i learned some things from the net(linus!) i replaced my gpu by myself and starting to want more from my premade pc.... my current specs are basically

i7 4770(not k)

4x 4gb ddr3 ram

gtx 960(i replaced it from premade 660)

and i dont think i am really happy with my 0kwvt8 motherboard since the usb ports these days are evolving to 3.1s and mine supports 2.0~3.0s. also i think it looks very ugly and is out of fashion. can anyone suggest a decent motherboard for my specs for about 100~150$ price range?

Do you have to use existing case? If you have the budget or you can wait until you pull together the budget, I would recommend you to buy a new one. You will have much more flexible build w/ standard ATX case and you can even use it for future builds. You will spend more time finding a mobo that fits your needs, if you'll manage to find it at all. There is much broader selection of ATX boards and their features.

ok your Dell houses a MicroATX motherboard   you processor is socket 1150, which doesnot support USB 3.1 natively, so youll have to 1 replace CPU  ram and  motherboard or buy a usb 3.1 card.

yeah i know that i need a  3.1 port and thats why i am asking you guys if you can recommend me a motherboard?

3 things:

- what power supply do you have?

- whats your budget?

- does your case fit standard motherboards and power supplies.

460W psu, 100~150$ as mentioned, i have never seen other motherboards or power supplies so i cant tell
