Hey, here my 'Nuvoton NCT6791D' is reaching 100+  then going to 40, it's fluctuating every second.

what is this? should i be worried?

Also, while i'm here. Are these temperatures safe?

Thank you in advance!

EDIT: i just replaced my cpu cooler and took off and re-added thermal compound

would i be right to assume my sensors are damaged? i dont think my stuff is fireproof :P

is this a big problem?

I would think so yeah, but did you reseat CPU cooler before or after measuring these temps?

to game or not to game, that`s the question

As long as nothing does catch on fire you should be okay.

well not really

but your component will lack a safety feature to detect overheat

w/e that is...

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

for the past months ive been running my pc with no fans other than cpu fan. yes i was rediculously stupid, don't ask how i didnt check...

my pc was always very very hot.

but i just fixed it now all 3 case fans are working. it should make a good bit of difference, right? it will detect overheat on other components surely

dude tha fuck, or your sensor is damaged or your stuff is fireproof

100C wouldn't set stuff on fire. You need like a couple hundred.

It looks very weird indeed... Such a high temperature isn't harmful for the component only, it may harm your motherboard as well... I would still take a closer and more careful look at when do you get these temperatures (under high or very high loads, maybe?) and try to diagnose what is going on.

One thing you may try to do is add a case fan blowing air directly into the microcontroller to see if you can lower those temps

i highly doubt its not the actualy temperature

did u read the post? it says 40 degrees, 1 sec later 110 degrees, then 1 sec later 50 degrees. i highly doubt thats possible, it has to be broken sensors
