1U Windows Server & NAS, Xeon D-1541 [ongoing]

I am doing this to build a bigger NAS then my current one (10TB off the shelf device) and to possible run apps/games off it and to tinker on Windows Server. I first starting Off with the server part then add HDD later on when I saved up some extra money. Right now I will run my plex server off of it instead off of my desktop (should have better transcoding now) and maybe move my VPS teamspeak server over (not sure on that). I plan on messing with a few game servers.

The MOBO has 2 1GbE and 2 10GbE ports, right now I have them teamed as 4 1 GbE ports. I did a test of transferring a file from my desktop and NAS to the server at the same time and was able to get 112MB/s on both.

Parts List:

MOBO: SUPERMICRO MBD-X10SDV-TLN4F-O

CPU: Xeon D-1541

RAM: G.SKILL NT Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400

Case: Athena Power RM-1U100DM308

OS Drive:  Samsung 950 PRO -Series 512GB PCIe NVMe

5.25" hotsawp bay 4x2.5": iStarUSA BPU-124DE-SS (for SSD's way down the road.

Rack cabinet: 6U 20" Deep ATA Rack Amp Road Case (added 4 wheels)

UPS:  CyberPower OR1000LCDRM1U

Switch: Dell PowerConnect 2824

OS: Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter

Planned for later date:

8 3-4TB HDD in 2 1U HDD racks connected to server by USB 3.0, SAS, or eSATA

10 GbE switch (Quanta LB4M)

4 SSD's (way down the road)

Here are more picture of it in the rack case. I drilled a fan hole in the bottom were i have the wheels so I can run it standing up with out worrying about the heat.

As you can see I have a few switches. I put them in even though I dont need them in it. My plan is to replace the top 2 dells with HDD drive bays down the road and the one of the bottom switched with a router. but I am not sure when that is all happening.

I am able to run 3 win 10 VM's easyly and with 2 people transcoding in plex does not hit the cpu past 70%
