I want to know if 4gb (2x2gb) of DDR2-800Mhz ram is enough for some decent gaming(1080p medium settings).

Im running Core2Quad Q6600 machine and want to know if the ram will be fast enough.

Might want some 8GB DDR2 heh

My MB has only 2 ram slots and i can only find 2gb sticks of ddr2-800 in my country.

Why not order off online then? 8GB is minimal unless your playing indie games and such. Currently more games are using more than 8GB, which is why am starting to get another 8GB stick of ram.

Try to find 4gb.

I found 4gb sticks, but they would cost 4x more, thats out of my budget.

It would be fine if you're running older games like skyrim, mine craft, etc...or lower demand game like league of legends.

I am a paid professional, but only when I am at work...and getting paid.

Well, I can't say anything until you tell us your GPU... I would recommend a quad core CPU for gaming though, dual cores can "pass" but they aren't the best for modern AAA titles.

GPU: XFX RX 7900 XTX

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D

Oh my bad, I read core 2 and assumed you had a dual core, didn't even notice the "quad". Honestly for 1080p gaming you might want something with more horses then a gt9400.

I bet most replying here weren’t born when ddr2 came out. I think 4GB ddr2 should be fine for most mediocre games (csgo/doto2/tf2) if you do not expect ultra settings. Best way to find out is to try. Skip that 750ti and save for a better 2nd hand gpu at the same pricelevel, i am thinking 2nd hand 950/960/380/7870/760/etcetc should be fine, do not underestimate a quadcore.

Try to find 4gb.

You'll have a hard time getting that density to work on 775 memory controllers. Only K8 IMCs could run 2GB per rank DIMMs due to the 16K pages used (compared to 8K on other architectures).

I have a computer with Pentium Quad core with 4 GB DDR3 ram; but even that cant allow for me to play games at 720p mid settings.

So if you want to Game with DDR2, My recommendation is to get a minimum of 8 GB of ram.

I suck a typing, preparw for typos.
