I have a r9 380x from asus, and it can not run the simplest of games. I checked other peoples build and there FPS for minecraft for example is in the 200's. but for mine it is toping at 60 fps and dipping to 10.
Is this a problem with the drivers or the card.

AMD FX-8350
Asrock 970 performance
Asus Strix R9 380X
A-Data SSD
Thermaltake 550W PSU

Kingston 2X4GB 1855mhz

I have the Sapphire Nitro 380X OCed to the max and 2 1080p monitors although I only game on 1. on Fallout 4, I get 50-60 FPS maxed out settings no AA and on Metal Gear solid, I get FPS lock at 60 FPS on Ultra no AA However, with The Division, I have yet to complete mission 2 because my graphics card keeps crashing at maxed settings and 1 below maxed (except for AA and the Nvidia specific stuff). Overall, I think you need to overclock your card and if that doesn't fix it, you might need a new card.

Well, pretty sure you got a cpu bottleneck here. Or you could just have Minecraft´s fps limit at 60.

Get MSI afterburner if you don't have it already and check your clock rates and GPU and CPU usage while in game. I've seen people with similar problems and the issue a lot of the time is the GPU not running at its full clock speed, also check to see if your CPU is pinned near 100%, to see if that's the bottleneck. I'm not too educated on AMD's CPU skus, but I wouldn't imagine that CPU would bottleneck your card

My dad has the 8320 and it is OCed to 4.5ghz and I'd imagine based upon its performance that the 8350 is not going to bottleneck the 380x.

I didn't think of this earlier on the 8350 side of things but have you thought about thermal throttling? my dad's 8320 would thermal throttle on idle while on Youtube. If he tried to open Adobe Lightroom (photo manipulation), the system would thermal crash. I ended up giving him my massive Silverstone air cooler and that bairly does it (might need a 2nd fan in push/pull to keep the OC)

im pretty sure he isnt going to get bottle necked that bad cmon 60 fps in minecraft? i have an 8320 and it doesnt even bottle neck that bad. only on a game like rust can i even notice a bottle neck closely relating to the 60 fps in minecraft i dont think a bottle neck is the problem here maybe he isnt getting enough wattage
