Okay so my 1TB Hard Drive is not appearing in 'My Computer' although my SSD is.

Could this somehow be disabled? or even potentially unplugged?

*If it was unplugged, how long would it take me to reconnect it*

It would not take you long to reconnect it.

Open the side of your case... Turn the PC off, unplug and plug back in the sata/power cables to your SSD and HDD. It is not all that difficult to do. However if that doesn't solve your problem tell yes.

GPU: XFX RX 7900 XTX

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D

Re-enable it in the BIOS if any of the other guys' ideas don't work :D

Hey there :)

It would be helpful if you provided a bit more info like the full system specs of your computer, OS type, if you have any data on that drive and if the problem occurred recently or this has happened since the beginning.

I'd begin by checking if the drive is visible in the BIOS, Device Manager and Disk Management.

If not, I'd try the drive with other SATA and power cables on different SATA ports and possibly on another computer (internally and externally) and see if the drive gets detected in those places.

If the drive is a new one you may just need to initialize, partition and format the drive in order to see it in My Computer. :)

Sorry for the long reply! :(.

Okay, I'm a computing idiot so please explain in as much depth as possible!

I can't see my 1TB Hard Drive in Device Manager / Disk Management / My Computer.

I've recently opened my case and installed a Graphics Card, my cable management is terrible inside my case, so I may have accidentally knocked it out of place.

If I now look into my case, what cables shall I look for? thanks.

Check out your HDD and see if the SATA cable and the power cable are firmly plugged in it and if the other end of the cables are firmly plugged in the motherboard and the PSU respectively.

When you power on your computer can you hear/feel the drive spinning?
