So I'm having a house built and I only have e lines in my living room downstairs and my theatre room upstairs, and master bedroom upstairs. I am using att uverse wireless gateway and plugging it into those 3 rooms via a smart hub in my master closet. The theatre will be using a networking switch to connect my pc, a/v receiver, ps4, ps3, uverse box, xbone , 360 and wireless hub for my wireless uverse receivers in my 2 kids bedrooms.

I want a fast wireless hub that will reach my kids computers, upstairs, my wifes pc in her office downstairs and have a printer,2 nests thermostats, a ring video doorbell, digital life alarm, and a mix of 15 cell phones and tablets.

What do you guys recommend. and what room do I put it in?The google on hub looks like the answer. So does the nighthawk. Hell I have no clue

If its only a wireless access point then the on hub is not the solution. I dont have any wireless AP's to recommend tho, so ill leave it others.

If I use words like probably or most likely, it is because I dislike certainty. These words can probably be omitted and the sentence read as a certainty.

for where to put it, the genereal answer : in the middle.

more precise answer : you'll have to test with a wifi analyser app to see where is the best coverage (it will take some time), and keep in mind that even the orientation of the router can impact coverage.

You may e able to buy two powerline adapters like these:

http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-PA8010P-KIT-Pass-through-Powerline/dp/B00Y3QPG1A

Then buy another cheaper router and set it up as an access point. This would broadcast wifi all over your house without needing to buy an entirely new very expensive router that may not even work as well..

That is $70 + the price of a router. The on hub is $200.

I just want good fast wifi all over my home. Ill take your suggestion
