Here is my build, it is a bit over budget and I would like to know how to lower it, I like the cpu graphics card and memory, and I need the wifi adapter.

Background info:

I need this computer for video editing, possible streaming, and gaming. Thanks!

you can get a better psu thats around 500~600W

and maybe run that xeon with stock heatsink (if it comes with one)

no point going with aftermarket cooler since you wont be overclocking it

you can get windows from other cheaper means

you can drop the ssd now and get one later when you have the budget

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Honestly you dont need what that other guy told you for 1k here is a build that should be perfect for you. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/t6k63C

Changes I made and why

CPU- 1. Better performace for cheaper (not much better)

CPU FAN - 1. Not a big reason except for lots of good reviews for it.

SSD- 1. Never heard of that brand but I know Kingston makes decent SSD.

PSU- 1. You dont need 750w

2. Gold is efficently better than bronze

3. Fully modular is more helpful then semi.

OS - 1. This website had cheap os so why not? Its literally the same thing

Optical Drive - 1. You need an optical drive for the os and for whatever you need it for in the future it will become handy.

WIFI Adapter - 1. You can not stream on wireless

2. I dont recommend gaming with wifi.

How is the PSU bad? Its 650w, gold, full modular and made by a good brand.

SSD? Made by a good brand and it fits his needs.

CPU? I assume he is going to stream on Twitch and they recommend an i7 4770 so 4790k is perfectly fine.

Your lack of experience is clear from your answers. Efficiency =/= quality. Brand =/= Quality. The Nex isn't so much as bad, but not good for the price you pay. SSD, V300 = bad. Just straight up, they gimped it hard. And you put in a 4690k, not a 4790k.

I never heard anything bad about that SSD and the 4690k is still perfect, I made a typo. Brand can equal quality because some brands are known for their quality products. The more efficient the more quailty because it outputs less wats. If you honestly think those arent true than your ignorant. Btw if you do try to "outprove" my point I am not gonna reply because it would be a waste of time.

The SSD in question: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7763/an-update-to-kingston-ssdnow-v300-a-switch-to-slower-micron-nand

The 4690k for streaming? Yeah no, it´s not a bad cpu by any means, but the 1231v3 with 4 extra threads will handle streaming much better. And no still, brand doesn´t equal quality. Some brands may have only relased quality psus, but that doesn´t change the fact that they might one they release a sub par one. Besides, EVGA have released some very low quality psus such as their B1 series and their 430 watt 80+. Fourms tier list:

Furthermore:

Quote

The more efficient the more quailty because it outputs less wats.

What? A 650 watt psu will output 650 watts if need be, regardless of the efficiency. It´s how well it handle´s outputting that power that efficiency comes from. Additionally, efficiency still does not equal psu quality. @STRMfrmXMN , your the psu guru, you´ll do a better job at explaining why this is true than me.

EVGA G1 isn't particularly great. It's a recase of the FSP Aurum and that's not only pretty damn dated, but the EVGA GQ 650 can be had for $5 more and will blow that out of the fucking water in every area but modularity.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

You sound like an internet SJW  - "My point is so correct that I'm not even going to prove you wrong because my evidence is classified from you!"

Efficiency != power output. Efficiency = percent power used without wasting it. If you have an 80% efficient 1000W PSU then... well let's take a look at the 80 PLUS efficiency guide I wrote that's pinned on the PSU/cases subforum and also in my sig. TL;DR, the 1000W, 80% efficient PSU would waste 250W of power and that would be turned into heat.

Brand is also not equal to quality, by and large. Corsair has bad units, EVGA has bad units, heck, nowadays even Seasonic designs have some low-end units. Corsair and EVGA don't even make their PSUs so you can't ensure a good outcome from them with each product.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
