Be careful with mail in rebates (MIR). You pay the listed price then, once you receive the product you must download & fill in a form that you snail mail to a rebate center; or you complete an online form. Eventually one usually gets the rebate. However, it usually comes as a pre-loaded charge card of some sort (Visa, MC, or AmEx usually). Often these cards have usage restrictions and time limits. Sometimes they include fees for use. I recall one $10 AmEx card that came with a four page tiny print user agreement.

 

What I am trying to say, is don't buy something just because it has an MIR. And when you do get something with a mail in rebate, don't expect to realize the full value of the rebate anytime soon.
