any hard drive would work good

 

how about a western digital black 1 tb its about $70 USD

How are you planning on backing up the system (system image, internal backup application, third-party app, etc.)?
As the guys suggested, you can use any drive you'd like, depending on your budget.

 

WD My Passport and WD Elements Portable are good external drives for backups. 
 

WD Blue and WD Green are good internal drives for this purpose. :)
