Ok so I've got a corsair air 540 in working on. Wanting to put a fan controller into one of the optical drive bays and it slides right in, but alas, it's just a short so you have to take out the tool less mounting and screw it in. That's where I run into troubles. Can't mount t first and slide the front panel back over it, what I'm wanting to do is remove the top panel above the psu section and...I can't. Wondering if anyone knows how to get the top panel off without breaking the steps for remounting not really feeling any give at all in them. Help please love you all!

I don't know if I'm understanding your problem correctly here, so please forgive me if I get it wrong. I think you're saying that you can't get the 5.25 bay cover off? Or are you saying that you got the cover off and are trying to mount it without the tool-less mounting?

Mine work perfectly fine.. you just slide in the optical drive or whatever from the outside->in  same as any other case really. Have you tried turning it round the other way?

I am trying to figure out what you mean, but think you may have taken the front panel off for some reason... did you try mounting it without taking off the front panel first?

Can you take a picture and add the file(s) to yourt post to show us what you mean?

I own this case but I don't understand what part you mean. "above the psu" is a drive cage and then the top of the case. The top slides toward the back and then up when you take the thumbscrews out.

What part exactly?
