whats the one you would like to use/would be a wise purchase decision is what you should be concerned about. lets say you can get one piece of shit for 60 bucks, then you see another one for 100, that 100 might be a better choice for many many reasons. also, which kind of mechanical keyboard?

I'm new to this whole keyboard thing so I'm not sure. My budget would be around $30 to $60.

there is something to look at. also, go ahead and watch reviews. 30-60bucks.. .you might need a bit more, save up few more weeks while doing some research so you can buy the best keyboard for you

edit: what im saying is that don't go and buy a keyboard right at this moment, nor tomorrow. always wait few days or a week before making a decision, its not wise to just want something and then boom you buy it immediately(ok that if you don't have a problem with running out of money, but considering your budget.. you aren't a millionaire who can spend money needlessly). also, 60bucks might be enough.

I have qpad m-70 and m50 as well as Zalman zm-k500, and genuinely the Zalman isn't half bad, the switches are less smooth and a bit heavier to press, but I like the layout and in general it feels quite good to use vs. Normal keyboard. Not sure about reliability on them though, as I've seen quitea few faulty ones for sale(one of the row/column pins seem to go on the controller, so you get the keys on that row/column not work)

I honestly have nothing against the switches in Zalman keyboard, the keyboard it self feels solid as well and layout works great for me, for the budget it's probably best keyboard just for trying it out at the 40usd(or whatever it's at now?)  price point and make sure the 100+ is worth it for a full sized back-lit board.

The Azio isn't mechanical. The Redragon's a fantastic deal though.

@takkun friend has that rantopad, there is a red switch variant too for same price at least on uk amazon. i love backlight on my keyboards too, one of those luxury options that aren't actually needed but are just so nice to have.

again no idea on reliability of those, also how many key roll over they got. Incredible how cheap they manage to make them, not cherry switches but still, that's normal keyboard prices...

I use the Cooler Master Devestator combo I got for christmas, It's a little mushy and the response is decent. It will get you through Life, and you get a mouse included in the bundle. Together the bundle is $29.99. And you can get the keyboard backlit in three different colors. Be advised though that the color you get is the only color you have to use, you cannot change them, they are NOT RGB lights, just red, green, or blue. But, it's an ok keyboard, not really mechanical i'd say, more like a mix of full keyboard key caps with a chicklet keyboard under the hood, kinda a shame. I don't even know if the keycaps come off, haven't tried. But it's cheap, decent, and will last. Not much gloss on it either, just keep your fingers dry so they don't mess up the matte finish.

Thats it though

Right, this puts them in price range of membrane keyboards, but a lot of ppl here will still say save up for a keyboard that costs as much as a video card. For the majority of non techie ppl... these cheap keyboards are beyond 'good enough'.
