Fixing my laptop

My old laptop's fans are not spinning. any guide on how to replace them? It's an old Acer laptop. I also would like to reformat it since it's a bit too cluttered already. How do I reformat it without losing my product key since it's genuine?

For reformatting you can use D2D recovery.

 

For fans, urgh, it will be haard to find ones that will fit as laptops often use proprietary hardware so I can't really help..

What version of Windows do you have?

and do you have a model number for the laptop?

Since Allshevski told you about the key, try using a computer fan and try plugging it into a usb port using a adapter  and point it into the cpu grill under the laptop since fans are really hard to find.

fans might be full of dust, check that before replacing anything
