Good cheapest thermal paste?

My cpu temps are bouncing around alot at idle and i want to do an experiment with some thermal paste! I'm using the stock hyper 212 thermal paste

I use this with no problems.

Some poeple will say different. But this is cheap and will do for "experiments".

I have used this at work and it seems fine. (I have not meassured temps, I just know it works alright)

Gelid GC extreme is the best regular paste you can get.

 

I use arctic silver MX-4, because you can get a tube of 20g for $20 and it is only slightly worse than the gelid.

I mean as luke demonstrated thermal paste might not matter unless you really have nothing on your cpu. But i'm sure he did a video like 1 year ago explaining that thermal paste means nothing anymore. though i'm not too sure. Take my word with a grain of salt!

I bought a syringe of Arctic Silver for $17, seems expensive for what you get but in reality it'll last quite a while.

dont really think thermal paste is really gunna change mush tbh i have a 212 with the in box thermal paste and great temps from it maybe try upping your fan speed 1 or 2 %

MX-4 or AS5 are my favorites, with MX-4 being my go to. I question if thermal paste will help, though. The stuff that comes with a 212 EVO isn't half bad, and you'd only net a 1-3C improvement, at best, by switching to a different paste and changing nothing else. If you're running hot, it's probably more indicative of a need to reseat the cooler than it is a need to change paste.
