APUs are more just like modern CPUs today. Intel slaps their onbaord graphics on everything. It will play LoL and CSGO at medium or high settings 60FPS

APUs just need fast RAM - 1866, 2133, 2400 and so on. The faster the RAM, the better performance. Dual-channel is also a must. A good cooler (212 EVO for instance) allows some pretty good OCs to be achieved. An A10 7870K with a cooler and fast SYS RAM can perform close to a GTX 750 Ti at stock

All Intel consumer CPUs (not professional or server) are APUs according to AMD's definition. An APU is simply a CPU with an integrated GPU, and Intel has been sticking their "HD Graphics" lineup on their consumer CPUs for years. AMD just puts much better graphics on theirs. The problem is that a dedicated card is a better solution for gaming, and that makes the iGPU part of the APU useless. AMD advertises the APU being able to crossfire with their dedicated GPUs, but that's only if you buy the low-end. Nothing higher than the R7 250 can do it, and an R7 260x performs better than an APU crossfired with an R7 250, and an X4 860k + R7 260x costs less than an APU + R7 250 yet outperforms it.. Basically, unless you're broke and need a PC for $300 or less, an APU build is not an optimal solution.

Actually. Kaveri can CF with 250X as well and they outperform even a 270 when in CF.
