New Build!/Fan Setup?

WaitDontSh00t

Hey guys, I just finished building my first build! Though I was wondering if you guys could help me out a bit with my fan setup/configuration!

Here's some info so you guys know whats inside..The case is a Phanteks Luxe.

Fan Setup:

- x1 200mm Front Intake

- x1 120mm Bottom Intake (980 Ti Hybrid Rad)

- x1 120mm Back Exhaust (980 Ti Hybrid Rad)

- x3 140mm Top Exhaust (Kraken x61 and additional 140mm Fan)

Should I change the orientation of these fans in any way? I don't know how hot Skylake is supposed to get (6700k), but at stock and running one test on Cinebench I believe the highest was 52C. Gaming wise, it's around the same, but maybe more around 50C or so. I know this is the Air Cooling section, but maybe someone can help me out with the fans!

Thanks!

Seems fine to me, but you really shouldn't need that third top 140mm fan. It won't help because it doesn't interact with anything heat generating, just pulls out cold air.

It works and that is what matters.

I would highly recommend you set the x61 pump to 80-100% constantly (and move it around to allow air bubbles to get into the res), which may help temps from the default settings (the pump once you get the air out of it is silent unlike the stock fans). I would also recommend if you haven't already replacing the stock fans with much quieter ones (like the Venturi HP-14s for example.)

How is your gpu rad set up in two different locations?

Ok, thanks for the reply!  The pump seems pretty quiet as of now. As far as the extra 140mm I have at the top, it wouldn't hurt to keep it would it? I thought it would help pull any hot air out of the case.

Sorry, I probably didn't make it clear! I have two Hybrids!

I'm assuming it is the front most fan in the case up top, in which case it doesn't pull hot air because hot air is generated at the back of the case. Therefor it does not help at all as it diverts air flowing front to back out of the case before flowing over heated components.

That said, it also doesn't really matter.

I wouldn't worry about it at all. I would personally take it out only because less fans=less noise and it won't help/hurt temps by any measurable degree.

I actually have it the other way around. The Kraken is taking up the front top two slots, and the additional 140 is at the back top above the mobo and one GPU Rad. (Hopefully that's okay, would be a pain to move it all lol)

Thanks for the input!

It's fine and in that situation it makes more sense to leave the back fan in place, but generally (for the exact reasons you don't bother with a front 140mm fan) you put the radiator in the rearmost spots.

Thank you! Glad to know I did a decent job setting all this up!

One thing I forgot to ask was, would it be better to put my hybrid that's at the back exhaust right now as in intake? Or should I just leave it as is?
