MSI R9 390 vs Geforce GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0

I am thinking of building my first PC. But i dont know if i shod buy a MSI r9 390 or GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0

here is what i am currently thinking:

CPU: Intel core i5 6600k
CPU cooler: Corsair Hydro H100i GTX
Motherboard: MSI Z97 gaming 5
Case: Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ATX
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB
Hard Drive: WD Blue 1TB
Powersupply: EVGA superNOVA G2 750W
Ram: Kingston HyperX Fury ddr3 2x8
GPU: MSI Radeon R9 390 or GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0
Keyboard: Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Cherry MX brown
Mousepad: SteelSerie QcK+
Mouse: Logitech G502
Monitor: BenQ XL2411Z 
OEM: Windows 10 pro

If I was you I would go with the R9 390 over the 970 because of its higher vram and if you go with one of those cards they should be sufficient for you for longer than 3 years and still be able to play most games at high-ultra at 1080p.

Somewhat off topic, but you cannot use a Z97 motherboard or DDR3 RAM with a 6600K. You need a Z170 board and DDR4 RAM (in most cases).

The R9 390 is a better performer in gaming than the GTX 970 but if you decide to do some video editing the 390 will do great as well. That 8 gb of vram especially for GPU accelerated tasks will be awesome.

For the 6700k you need atleast a z170 board and ddr4 ram
