Asus strix cooler on a 980 Ti

sof006

Hey guys. So this might sound like a dumb question and the answer will probably be a resounding no but I can't find an answer on Google.

I have a GTX 980 (non Ti) Asus Strix.

The reference 980 Ti cooler... is it possible to fit the Asus strix cooler to the 980 Ti board? Looking at where the cooler screws onto the board it appears to be the same distance for the screws (looking at images online) however I could be wrong. Just looking for a second opinion. It doesn't bother me if its not possible, would be cool if I could though.

System Specs:

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X

GPU: Radeon RX 7900 XT

RAM: 32GB 3600MHz

HDD: 1TB Sabrent NVMe -  WD 1TB Black - WD 2TB Green -  WD 4TB Blue

MB: Gigabyte  B550 Gaming X- RGB Disabled

PSU: Corsair RM850x 80 Plus Gold

Case: BeQuiet! Silent Base 801 Black

Cooler: Noctua NH-DH15

No, the strix ones in particular do not fit on reference cards, as they have a different layout

Thats all I need to know. Thanks :)

In the process of getting the 980 Ti and selling the 980 that I currently own. Leaf blower design will probably be better for my case anyway, will draw out some heat considering I have now replaced my water cooler with a standard air heatsink.
