So in my system I currently have 7 case fans. I am using the Asus z97a usb 3.1 motherboard and am using 3 fan splitter cables on 3 separate headers. The two radiator fans 3 pin (Corsair sp120) are on one header with a splitter, the two included 3 pin fans that came on my Corsair C70 Vengeance are on another header, and my two Corsair 3 pin fans that are mounted to my side panel are on another header. I've done some reading and it seems that fans that use splitters lose some performance if I read correctly or in some cases its just not good to run two fans off one header. I looked up my motherboards support for fan header output and I think it's ok but it wasn't really clear to me. So my question is if I got a fan hub like say this one

SilverStone Technology All Black 1-to-8 PWM Fan Hub (CPF04) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VNW556I/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_2sF4wbN62RQKD

If I connected both radiator fans, both front intakes, and the two side fans through this hub would Asus fan xpert recognize it as one fan and control the according?  I like using a software to control the rpm of the fans so that way when my system is at idle it's nice and quiet and it will only pull the extra fan power when needed so it eliminates some excess fan noise. Anyone have any recommendations or know if this hub may work?

For the NZXT Grid + do you have to use there software or would fan xpert work them as well?

I don't have it, so don't know. maybe watch a review of it?

Ok yea I'd need to do a little research,  looks like Grid does have its own software also, think it's called Cam.

For 3 pin fans that controller will not work well for it as it only is capable of controlling 4 pin PWM based fans, 3 pin fans will only run at full speed on it. If you would like to use Asus's fan control setup you can get splitters to have more fan connections, the rule of thumb is usually 3-4 fans per header to not overload it. It will not degrade performance or slow down the fans they draw more amperage or power which is why 3-4 fans max unless they are high current fans.

I think you got it wrong.

I have a Nzxt Grid+ V2, and that is 3pin only and does not support pwm controlling.

You can still connect a 4pin, but it get's controlled with DC.

TBH the Grid+ is a good unit, but the CAM software is kind of lacking. It's getting better though.

I'm referring to the Silverstone unit not the grid+V2 where the Grid unit is only designed for 3 pin fans via voltage control.
