I am looking for the best silent case out there!  I currently have the Corsair Air 540 but it basically wakes the dead when I start it up so I need something a little quieter.  I know NZXT and Fractal Design make really good silent cases but which one is really the best?  Something mATX based would be nice cause that's my mobo but not required, good cooling and fan filters are almost essential.  A side window would be cool but not absolutely needed.  If any of you have ideas on what I should get that would be greatly appreciated!

Current rig if it matters (upgraded it from a prebuilt from Microcenter): http://pcpartpicker.com/p/CMXC3C

i5 12600k | ASRock Z690M-ITX 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHz | EVGA 2080 Super Black | Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB + 980 1TB | Corsair RMx 650W | Thermaltake Tower 100 White

I would try getting some low-noice fans or setting the fan-curves less aggressive. The Air 540 isnt know for beeing loud.
Maybe one of ur fans is broken?

Wheres the noice coming from?

While cases do help a lot with noise isolation, you should be looking towards suppressing the noise source (unless you are wildly exaggerating with the 'wakes up the dead' analogy).
Try with different fans, controlling them, changing your cooler, using rubber aid for fans and hdds, etc.

Anyway, from the mainstream cases out there, I'd suggest Fractal define stuff over the H440 (better ventilation). Cooler Master Silencio cases aren't bad, but they are usually overpriced, however often found on sale.

I have tried making a fan curve in the BIOS and regular programs but it is just not working.  The noise is just the fans running at what seems 100% all the time.

What mobo is it? not all headers on all motherboards have proper fan control.

I linked to all the parts in the original post.  It is just some MSI mobo that came with the prebuilt system I originally had.

Buying a new case then is stupid. What fans are you owning? At what RPM's are these running? (Hardwaremonitor)

Consider buying some high quality fans, instead of a new case. It'll run as silent as my girlfriend locked in my basement afterwards.

I just have the 3 stock fans that come with the Corsair case, the High Performance Air Series AF140L.  I don't know what RPM they are running.

Checked out the motherboard specs, and it seems there isn't really much fan control going on besides very basic control on the main (CPU) header.

You can get a fan controller and start from there.

The NZXT Grid+ V2 is a pretty solid choice, it has immense control capabilities from the CAM Software and costs $30 https://store.nzxt.com/products/grid-v2

Download the tool "Hardwaremonitor" or smth and look it up. Maybe take a look at the Bios. Are the fans plugged into the Motherboard?

The exhaust and one intake are plugged into the mobo, only one is into the power supply but could one fan be making all that noise?

Well, try it out. Block the Fans movement by stopping it by Hand and Listen if its gets much quieter

Should I really do that? That seems like it would break or damage the fan...

Just dont put any hard materials into the blades. Stopping the motor for a moment wont do anything.

I actually stopped all three case fans and it got quiet quickly even though two of the three are controlled by the mobo.

Get a fan hub/controller/voltage regulator for ur noisy fans or get silent ones. These are ur problem, not ur case ^.^
