u can always add an ssd later, but swapping a processor means leaving one aside, its a waste

Straight gaming the i5 is fine, if your producing video content and make a buck off of it then the i7 is the way to go.

Regardless of the CPU I would suggest a SSD, overall performance will improve with one.....

The i5 will do video editing but yes it will be slower, it's not like it can't do it, but if your not making money with your work then it's hard to justify the extra cost of the i7...

So take that for what you will.
