There is a sale on at Ebay (20% off), the prices are in Australian dollars and pre-20% off.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Apacer-AS2280-M-2-128GB-SATAIII-SSD-2280-/351656719238?hash=item51e05fb386:g:5mMAAOSwUuFWxSW3

Is this a good M.2 SSD? Or should I save? I only have a single M.2 slot on my ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming motherboard.

Do some research into how fast that drive is. If it's hella fast, then go for it.

Then what is considered "Hella fast" for a SSD. You are just creating more questions.

This is a sata m.2 drive. It will not be faster than most regular SSDs. If it was PCIe, then go for it.

Around $100, this one is cheap but the brand is not well-known, that is why I am concerned. SSD specs vary a lot.

Oh I see, I thought M.2 is faster in general. Then I will save up for a M.2 PCIe. Thanks.

@ApolloEleven You can check if it's sata by llooking at the picture. SATA-M.2-SSDs have two notches whereas PCIe ones have only one.

well linus gave away some apacer ssd recently, so they can't be that bad :)

but i'd get a 2.5 inch drive because you won't see a diffrence and you can upgrade to an NVMe drive later down the road :)

i would personally get a 250 gb ssd, i have the bx100 from crucial (250 gb) and i've already filled 90 gb, i would not get a 120gb ssd :)

get: 850 evo or bx100 250 gb

Their website says it is a SATA III M.2.

I already got a regular SATA SSD, so I will probably get a higher capacity regular SATA SSD or a PCIe M.2 SSD.

Hmm true. Still I couldn't find a review for this exact model which is odd. But anyway I'll just wait for another sale for a higher capacity SSD since this is just a regular SATA SSD but in M.2 form (I already got a 120GB 2.5inch SSD as boot drive).

It is heavily discounted ^_^

I have two old 80GB HDDs + 120GB SSD in my computer. I am looking to replace the two 80GB HDDs since they block airflow in my case and really slow at loading big applications such as games, and I have a M.2 slot on my motherboard, and an extra 2.5 inch SSD mount behind the motherboard which do not interrupt airflow.

I thought this M.2 is much faster than my 2.5 inch SATA SSD, but it turns out there is a PCIe and SATA version. I'll wait for a cheap 240GB SATA 2.5 inch SSD or a fast PCIe M.2 120GB SSD instead.

Oh wow that is reasonable and good specs too. I'll think about it. Thanks for sharing.

EDIT: When I convert currency from USD to AUD it is slightly more expensive but still a good deal.

@ApolloEleven It's not amazon.com.au but the regular amazon.com, so that means there will be shipping costs to australia...

Yes, including shipping, it is $85 Australian dollars, which is ~$20 more than the M.2 SSD but I think I'll get this one instead, thanks.
