So this is a continuation of a previous thread because it got derailed a bit and I have new information to present.  Instead of 5760x1080 he's considering a single 1920x1080 setup, but he wants max settings with some higher end mods.  Some people have suggested that it's more CPU intensive, so would an FX-8320+HD 7950 be sufficient?

I would imagine so. If it is that CPU intensive you could try moving to an 8350 or i7 platform and getting a 7870 or 7870 Tahiti if the price difference is worth it. Idk how much they're worth.

I can agree with helping, that those specs should be suitable for playing it with all the mods or at least most of them, with just one 1080P monitor.

So is going from an FX-8320>I7-3770 going to be worth it?

I believe so, I know the game does support hyper-threading very well and if on the AMD side, I see 8 cores taking pretty good advantage at playing it on one monitor.

Now remind you, I am not really big on the game/Sim but I do now some people that play it and they use 6 core CPU's or more, they say that gives them the best experience in the game/Sim.

On my sig rig, none of the storage is in a raid config, all the drives have something different on each one, such as, my SSD has the OS on it, 3 of the 2TB HDD's have movies on them, 1 2TB has all my software and pics on it, one 2TB has my games and music on it, and the bottom  2TB has Mac OSX on it, but I do not have that HDD hooked up, I just use it when I have to do a project at home for my work.

I have a media server in my laundry room which has 42TB of storage space, that one is in a raid 5, that has all the media that can be accessed from any PC in the house.

I originally bought the 2 XFX 7950's to get better FPS is games, I bought the 3rd one hoping that I could get more FPS, but I was wrong LOL, so now I just use it for benching, most of the time it is disabled.

Yeah, I feel that it is safe to say that that config will play the game/Sim really good :)

he wants to know if down the road if he wants triple monitor, can the FX-8320 handle it with say a newer higher end graphics card or xfire/sli?

That's a tough call, everyone that i know that plays the game/Sim, that has surround or eyefinity have the 3930K, they are not Intel Fanboy's, they just say it plays so much smother on the X79 platform more then any other platform on the market to date, is that true? I have no idea, but even if you YouTube the flight sim X, just about everyone that is really into it and have multiple monitors and the gauges and all the mods added to the Sim do use the X79 platform.

So I'm not sure if the AMD FX-8320 is the way to go if he wants to do the multiple monitors and all the mods. I would assume if you just used it as a eyefinity setup like other games, none of the mods and he did not want to add a 4th monitor for the gauges, I personally think it would play pretty smooth.
