Which power supply cord should be going into the graphics card? VGA?

It should be the PCI-E 6+2 pin power connector.

Amazon. and we plugged in both cords.

Alright, which PSU was it? (If it is the GPU then it shouldn't be too hard to return it)

We got an EVGA 650GQ gold 80+

Ok then, so it's most likely not the PSU being bad. I'd call EVGA and see what they can do for you.

Yep if you've got a PSU from EVGA the power cables for the GPU should be labeled VGA. Confusing, I know, but whatever.

Should we plug the cables that came with the graphics card? we got those and they seem to be the same

Well for me the VGA labelled cable worked just fine, so if you tried both sets of cables( those from the GPU and those from the PSU) then you can pretty accuretlty say that you GPU is dead. Also, try removing the GPU at all from the system and plug the dispay cables into to mobo IO ports, see if you get a post.
