is a 750w PSU enough to power it ??

my future build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RJ2wTW

Yes, 650 or even 500 would be enough as long as it´s a quality psu. Just an fyi, wouldn´t get the V300 as an ssd. And I would get the 390 over the 970 if you don´t need cuda.

Part Picker reckons 366w, stick it through a few other PSU calculators and have a look what they say. However, yes, 750w will be fine for a 4690k and a single 970. That said, just something to consider, you may wish to swap that 970 for an R9 390, it's generally considered the best card around that price point these days.

750W is overkill ,IMO.

You may want to get a 390 instead of a 970 if you don't need CUDA , and i wouldn't suggest getting the v300 , as firmware issues can tank it's performance and reliability.

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

i think i'll get a savage ssd because it's still in my budget and it's way better

At $64? Dude, you could get an 850 or BX200 for that price.

where do you think i can improve that build , but pleeeeeeeease dont tell me to take a 390 because every time i post a topic about something someone pops-out telling me that there is 390 , i know that there is a 390 but i simply dont want it thanks anyways

I'd recommend an 850 over a BX200, Crucial gimped the BX200, because the BX100 was too good compared to their more expensive MX drive.

Did seriously pull a V300 on their BX200?

It´s already pretty solid. No real other recomendations.

Does that not tell you something...? The whole community says "get a 390, unless you need Cuda", you choose a 970 anyway.

Well, at least they changed the name, and I'm not sure the change was as drastic as the V300, but yeah, the BX200 is worse than the BX100.

For the SSD you can afford an 850 EVO, so go for that.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

A good 750 watt unit like the EVGA GQ 750 would be more than enough even in SLI.

I wouldn't consider it a good unit. Check the Tomshardware review, where 3.3V ripple goes out-of-spec and 5V rail almost does. With SLI, the power draw will get near 750W and that ripple is not good at all.

I'd recommend the FSP Hydro G 750W over the GQ any day. Hydro G is very solid quality with far better ripple.

i might go for a 2nd gpu though, but i think it's enough ... because you all people are telling that the 750w is overkill for a build like that :P

750W for a single 970 and i5 build is far more than enough, infact you could SLI 970 and OC the i5 and be fine with that too.

Remember a 3 way 980 build pulled about 600W so that should be an indication of the headroom you should have.
