E5-2670 Compatibility

So I know the 2670 is for x79, but is x99 also compatible? Not entirely clued up on chipsets, but x99 seems like just a newer generation?

Each chipset generation uses different pin layouts. So no, if it was designed for x79 it will not.

No it does not support x99 chipset, I actually have a build I ordered with E5-2670's in it. I ordered a Asrock motherboard for it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157350
