Alright so my ISP provides me with 60 mbps upload and download, however i only get best performance using a ethernet cable with my router. So pretty much I have 6-10 devices connected to the router which, I know it should reduce wireless speeds but the wireless speeds are at an incredible low. If im standing 5 feet away from my router with the antenna pointed in my direction im getting .58 - 3 mbps  of download speed which is absolutely garbage. My router is the typical Ml424WR verizon router, and im wondering if the router is just getting old and can't handle this many devices being connected to it? If so, would buying a new router do anything good? Any tips or feedback would be much appreciated (:

lawd, havent seen a verizon router in ages, i would recommend an upgrade most definitely, unless your downloading on every single device at once, that SHOULDNT affect your speed, look into a new 100mbs router.

I've got Verizon Fios Quantum here and I needed to upgrade our router in order to support our 100/100 speed.

this is with 4 devices connected and my PC downloading a 6.5 gig file and youtube videos running with steam downloading on a 50mbs connection.

Have you tried disconnecting all but one device and seeing what that does to your speeds over Wi-Fi?

So a new router would most definitely increase wireless speeds? Because were hurting over here lol

Yes i have but its not that major of a difference, i'd probably bump up to 6-10 mbps

honestly dont waste time on amazon just run down to your local best buy(despise) or office depot (recommend) and get one from there

I got an Asus RT-87U just before Xmas, it's been great. It cost me just over £100 and I can easily get my full 200mbps over Wi-Fi.
