Broken Motherboard?

Today i build my new skylake pc with the Asus Maximus VIII hero.All was going good until l head a noise from the case and i saw smoke (f*ck).The pc rebooted and seemed to work fine.I shut it down and I inspected the motherboard. I saw one of its components had exploded (capacitor?). Was it a faulty product or i did something wrong? (i was updating Google chrome when it happened). I took a picture that shows the damage done. What is this component and what is its use?What should i do now? Please help...

your capacitor blew. You need a RMA

that capacitor is a 10k cap sitting just south of the processor i have the same motherboard, if that exploded you may need to RMA the board. i cant tell you exactly what its for though.

EVGA G2/GS/GQ 550W. The wattage is fine on the CX500 but it's just a shitty quality PSU.

RMA, you can see where the puff of spoke blew out and left the discoloration where it says 1151... dang man lol.
