So my friend asked if I could download something (a minecraft mod, even though i hate the game and I only play it because he forces me to) because he "doesn't know how to". Next thing I know, I noticed that command prompt opened and some other things. I quickly took out my Wireless Internet Adapter, and I started to uninstall the mod, and I used windows recovery and set it back 2 weeks. What I noticed is that my time changed 1 hour back, and I was logged out of everything (obviously). I am still worried and I'm wondering what else I can do to end this. Another thing is if there's some type of windows recovery that turns everything back, and not just programs.

Your friend is a manipulative and incompetent fool. For the virus do, if you want to go the safer route, back up all your shit you know is secrue, then wipe your storage clean, get yourself a clean windows/linux/OSX install and you'll be good to go!

Tell him that your PC is now infected and your data can't be reverted, so he's going to pay for it.

And you can try downloading an antivirus software like avast! or AVG and running a full scan.

There are a few free anti-virus programs out there. Download all of them if you like as some pick up things others don't. They normally don't like to share virus detection databases. Don't have more than one installed at a time though. Do a full scan, not a half arsed one.

After that check your start up programs using MSconfig (start up tab) and see if there's anything you don't recognize. If so then disable it from booting. Once disabled open it's file location and manually delete it once you've checked Google to see what it does if you're really unsure.

Some virus' can do unrecoverable damage though, so be prepared for format if you have to.

It's not a race to the bottom.

Alright I'm downloading the ISO for windows 10. I don't see any harm in completely clearing everything, as I don't have anything that important in my PC.

There goes my friday :(

If it's not broken, don't fix it!!!!!

Just download an antivirus software, or, if you have one, run a full scan!!!

When in doubt I just do a system restore, assuming you have a restore point from a recent date, otherwise run a scan like the others said, however check what's running yourself since scans can miss things

Also why would you need to change non programs, they can't do anything, I mean you could just use custom recovery settings so everything is restored to a previous date but it really shouldn't matter.
