i want to buy a new monitor for game purpose

i play CSGO a lot and i was wondering should i get 144hz monitor or ??

i play csgo at 300 fps.... (dont ask me why... i just know that profesional player capped their fps at 300)

so my question is can i run 300fps in 144hz monitor ?? is there any noticeable different between 144fps and 300 fps in 144hz monitor ??

and

what is the best monitor can u suggest for mid budget 144hz monitor ??

*bad english...ikr

144hz means it refreshes 144 frames per second. So there would be no difference between 144fps in the game and 300fps as your monitor doesn't support but up to 144fps. Yes a lot of CSGO players go with 144hz monitors as it is more smooth. However response time is also important.

GPU: XFX RX 7900 XTX

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D

144hz means the monitor will refresh 144 times a second. That means that it will display up to 144FPS. It gives you more frames than a 60hz or 120hz monitor would give you, but it would only display up to 144FPS. It's still good to have more than that, though .

You will never truely have an FPS higher than the refresh rate of the monitor.

I've never followed E-Sports, but I'm not surprised that they cap their FPS at 300 with 144hz monitors because that would allow them to ensure that they are always having a super-sized buffer for the disply, and that way they are guaranteed to always be seeing 144hz (or FPS) from the monitor.

So, in short, no - a 144hz monitor will never display 300 fps, because it's not physically possible. IF you can guarantee that your game will always run in the range of 300fps (as generated by the CPU/GPU) then you can be sure that you are utilizing the full abilities of the 144hz monitor.

Hz: How often your monitor refreshes its image per second.

fps: how many frames are sent to your display by your GPU.

Means, you can have 144 frames per second sent from your GPU, but if your monitor only does 60hz, you will only see 60 of those 144 created frames that have aligned with the refresh cycle of your monitor. All the excess frames will just get lost in nowhere.

The other way round: If your monitor supports 144 Hz but your GPU outputs 60 fps, you will most likely see most of those fps, as your monitor refreshes more often than your GPU can send new images. This means that some images are effectively displayed more than once on your screen. However this way around it is more likely that all the fps sent from you GPU will align with some refresh cycle from your monitor and therefore it feels probably smoother.

response time: how long it takes for the monitor to go from grey to grey. So in other words how fast a pixel can change color on-screen.

also interesting:

input lag: how long it takes for the image to actually be displayed after it has been rendered by your GPU.

What kind of monitor do you want?

Do you want great response time and input lag? Do you NEEDor WANT a high refresh rate monitor? Do you want a higher than 1080 resolution?

When a lot of things are happening all at once, like in an FPS or action movie, a lower response time means less artifacts. Such as ghosting.

what if i have a laptop(60hz) connected to monitor with 144hz...

it will display 144hz  or 60hz in the monitor (not the laptop screen)

If the GPU in the laptop is capable of producing greater than 60 FPS, then it will display it on the 144hz monitor (up to 144 FPS). It will never display greater than 60 FPS on the laptop screen because it is limited to 60hz (60 FPS).
