debating on either a 4k tv upgrade or preordering a oculus rift

or a computer upgrade lol

would my  gtx work on the new skylake motherboard

Yes,  LGA 1151 has the same mounting points as 1150.

Yup, its definitely compatible, all socket 115x

 

I don't know what you're trying to do but, I say computer upgrade :P
