Need Help With CPU.

So my motherboard in one of my old PCs is an LGA 775 Socket, Fujitsu D3041, and supports;

Which CPU would be best to upgrade to the Q8XXX or the Q9XXX series?

The PC will be used for everyday tasks and gaming, coupled with a R9 270X.

I cannot that would be out of my price range and I can get a Core 2 Quad for £15

it may support up to the Q9650

 

those may be higher than the most common Q6600 but they will be the fastest chip

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.
