Xeon or i5?

So I know I want to overclock with my Dark rocj Pro 3. But, I found this Xeon, and I don't know if xeons are overclock able because I didn't see a "k" lol but I didn't want to assume. I was going to buy a 6600k but wasn't sure if this Xeon was better for gaming at least.

The E3-1225v5 is a slightly higher clocked i5-6500 with 2MB more cache.

OCed in gaming? I5 will win out.

Not the E3-122x series, those are all locked i5 with more L3 cache.

Workstation class, longevity, reliable. 24/7 usage. Cheaper option than i7 if not overclocking.

You need to get into the 123x spec to get your monies worth IMO. 

 

Has hyper-threading and is equivalent to a downclocked and locked i7.
