HDD shows unknown files

The drive doesn't show any indications for failure or any other critical condition.

It is rather strange for it to have just 31 hours of usage and so many load/unload cycles and parkings of the head.

I'd suggest that this is a software issue cause by a program that creates temp files that are protected from deleting and that this has nothing to do with the actual health of the drive. :)

I'd follow @Godlygamer23 suggestion and see if the third-party tools can find any malware or other errors.

Captain_WD.

I am using seagate 7200 rpm HDD's internal 3.5 inch. I am using one of the drives for media storage in the software davinci resolve.

Each time i use resolve I am getting files as shown below in which ever drive I use and I also got disk redundancy check error once.

Not able to delete these files. Kindly help me out,

Have you tried to access the folders? What happens when you do?

seems like you have some corrupt files. maybe you should try a defrag

Defrags only move files around. It doesn't fix file corruption.

so what shall I do now, replace HDD?

No. This is a software issue most likely, not hardware related. There are some programs that can force delete folders if you wanna try that route.

Hey there :)

What is the drive's brand and model? Such folders and files are often either cache files from certain applications or malware that can be detected by antivirus and antimalware programs and can be cleaned up. If you don't have any important data on the drive or if it's not that hge amount I'd create a full backup and simply format the drive/partition and then restore your data. A drive wipe would delete everything from the drive and remove potential corrupted data. :)

Post back if you need more info,

Not necessarily. In order to check that you would need to perform a diagnostic test and see if the drive's health is OK or not. The manufacturer should have a tool provided on their website. I'd also get a third-party tool that can give you the raw values of the S.M.A.R.T. status. if you have trouble reading them feel free to post them here. :)
Corrupted data or unknown malware doesn't necessarily mean a bad drive that needs to be replaced. :)
