Driver Issues

Go to solution Solved by aeroencychris,

Uninstall any drivers you see currently and install these

Motherboard - http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H97M%20Anniversary/?cat=Download&os=Win1064 (make sure you get all the ones listed under Drivers besides AppCharger)

GPU - http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD_Radeon_Software_Crimson_Edition_16.2.aspx

And run the hell out of Windows Update afterwards.

Hi, so I've been having many issues lately with my computer, mainly performance wise. One case of this is when I would leave the computer on too long, it would hang up(freeze or black screen). I am pretty sure that I have corrupted drivers or missing drivers, but when I try to update them, windows tells me that they are the latest version. It has also affected my gaming, as the frame rate would be horrific at all times. Here is my build:

Intel Core i5-4460

Asrock h97m Anniversary

G.Skill 8gb RAM

AMD r9 290(Powercolor)

EVGA 750w Platinum PSU

Windows 10

A-data 128gb SSD

WD Caviar Blue 1tb

I have also used tools such as DriverToolKit and DriverAgent to see what drivers I am missing. Mainly, on DriverToolKit, it says that I am missing(or files corrupted) the Intel(R) 4th Gen Core Processor DRAM Controller 0C00 and the Intel(R) Xeon(R) processor E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core processor PCI Express x16 Controller - 0C01. I've been having these issues for quite awhile and I'm unsure where to find these drivers. I think I can find the other ones, but these two are the main problems. Thanks!

PS I've checked my Hard Drive status with CrystalDiskInfo and it says both of them are all good.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling and get back to you.

Wait, sorry for this nooby question, but what exactly do I uninstall? Do I uninstall the drivers listed in the AMD and Asrock webpages you have given me, or do I go to device manager and uninstall all the outdated drivers that are seen in my DeviceDriverManager thingy, or both? Thanks!

Kinda hard to say considering I don't know exactly what's on your computer as of now. You can send me a screenshot of your programs list and I can probably tell you what's a driver and what's not.

Well, I'm an idiot, just uninstalled the Intel SATA AHCI Controller, and now it's unable to boot and I have to go to safe mode. What to do?

Nevermind, I can boot now, and I'm off to reinstall that driver ASAP. I will also send you that driver report.

Here is the list of drivers I am missing. It also says I now have the standard AHCI controller, so where do I find the most recent Intel one? Thanks!

Actually, I figured it out. I uninstalled and reinstalled the AMD Catalyst Drivers and installed those new AsRock h97m drivers as you said. I loaded up my games and my frame rates were high again, however I'm not sure about the hangup problem. I'll mark this post as solved, thank you!
