FreeNAS or NAS4Free

So this is for a NAS that will be used at home, to backup important information, I don't mind a steep learning curve but want the system to be reliable and secure. Which one should I use?

I personally use FreeNAS and I haven't had any issues with it whatsoever, I use it both to backup important information as well as to stream my home media collection. I think it would be suitable for the tasks that you have in mind
