970 Sli issues

I have a EVGA 970 FTW+ and a EVGA 970 ssc , both have 4gb of ram and should be sli compatible  and they both have been tested separate , but when i enable sli via the nvidia control panel as soon as i run any 3D application (CS:GO or 3D mark) my computer freezes and it says the driver has crashed. I have updated my drivers and downgraded them as well and nothing seems to work. any ideas? thanks

yes i did and gpu-z and msi afterburner are both registering them as in SLI

Try going into 3d settings in nvcp and set sli render to nvidia recommended. Believe that's it not at home on tablet at work.
