So I'm building a dual-boot Hackintosh, and I want to save as much money as possible on this system. (Who doesn't? :P) I intend to game with this board, with a 980Ti plugged into it, and I will be overclocking (first OC though so not sure how hard I'm gonna push this 4690K)

Right now I'm between buying a Gigabyte Z97-HD3 and an Asus Z97-E. The Asus is around 50 bucks more, but the guy at my computer store said it has better onboard audio and listed a bunch of other stuff. So my question is, would the HD3 be able to fulfill my needs? Or will it melt to a thin liquid when I try to game on an OC'd CPU? :)

Well the HD3 is confirmed to work to "Hackintosh", the Z97-E status is unknown.

A higher end board will most likely have more features(such as USB, Sata, better audio, PCIE slots) and a better power phase(as in more chokes/phases for the power to go through) for overclocking.
